Tea and Cake with K J Whittle

TICKETS SOLD OUT

Come along for tea and cake (included in ticket price) with author K J Whittle, as she talks about her debut novel, ‘Seven Reasons to Kill Your Dinner Guests’. A devilish who dun-it that asks the question – what would you do differently if you knew when your time was up?

Join us for a cup of tea and a piece of delicious cake (included in ticket price), in Cakes & Ale café, as you listen to author K J Whittle in conversation, talking about her new novel, Seven Reasons To Kill Your Dinner Guests.

This knife-sharp debut has all the trimmings of an Agatha Christie classic,  and tells the story of an anonymously hosted dinner party where seven strangers meet. At its conclusion, each guest is given an envelope revealing the age at which they will die. Shocked, the group disperses into the rainy night with the hope of forgetting this ghoulish stunt. Until two weeks later, news spreads that one of their number has died at the age foretold….

Told from the perspective of each diner, Seven Reasons To Murder Your Dinner Guests is packed with memorable characters, witty social commentary and a devilish who dun-it. It balances mystery with mortality and poses the question: what would you do differently if you knew when your time was up?

Kerry (KJ) Whittle’s background is in journalism, having written for national newspapers and magazines for the last 20 years where she specialised in telling real-life stories. In 2020, she attended Curtis Brown Creative’s novel writing course. Having grown up in Cumbria and studied in London, Kerry now lives in Manchester. Seven Reasons To Murder Your Dinner Guests is her first novel.
