Get your story out of your head and into the world!
Ruth Sutton is an established Cumbrian author with a decade’s experience of self-publishing. In this masterclass she will clarify the options facing writers who wish to publish, offering practical advice about how to self-publish in both digital and paperback formats. The first essential of course is to write a book that’s good enough to publish, so that’s where we start, followed by the steps needed to launch your masterpiece into the world, and how much it might cost. By the end, hopefully, you’ll have a plan tailored to your own needs.
Ruth Sutton worked as an education consultant, travelling all around the world. She was a secondary teacher and deputy principal of an inner-city school in Manchester and taught on exchange in a senior high school in the USA. After five years as a school district assessment consultant, she spent two years as senior adviser (assistant superintendent) for secondary education. She then became an independent consultant, specialising in assessment for learning and school improvement. On retirement she fulfilled a lifelong dream to put down roots in Cumbria and write a novel. All her books are set in West Cumbria and feature the area’s industrial history and rugged landscape.
