Objectification: Writing the World Through Objects

This workshop asks you to bring along an object of personal significance, which you will use to explore how close observation can link experience and history to things beyond you. We will apply the same techniques to a natural object to discuss how we can write about the world around us.

Polly Atkin lives in Grasmere. Her first full poetry collection Basic Nest Architecture (Seren: 2017) is followed by another pamphlet, With Invisible Rain (New Walk Press: 2018). She is a Penguin Random House Write Now mentee for a non-fiction book reflecting on place, belonging and living with chronic illness.
