Scottish Wildcats – Their Past, Present and Uncertain Future

In her evocative nature narrative, Tracking the Highland Tiger, Marianne Taylor goes in search of the mysterious and rarely seen Scottish wildcat, which, as Britain’s most threatened mammal, is on the edge of extinction. It may already be extinct in the wild. How did things get so bad for this famously ferocious predator, and can we save it and restore its populations?

Marianne Taylor is a nature writer, photographer and illustrator. She has written many natural history books, including Dragonflight and The Way of the Hare. As a cat-lover from her earliest years, she has held a life-long fascination with the mysterious Scottish wildcat and its remote, rugged habitats.
