Open Mic Night with Lucy Burnett

Now it’s your turn to strut your literary stuff at this spoken word event at the Vallum Gallery at the Brampton Road campus. Register on the night - first come first served - for a few minutes in the spotlight, compered by local poet and novelist Katie Hale! The evening will culminate in a reading by Lucy Burnett, Programme Leader of Creative Writing at the University of Cumbria, from her new poetry collection Tripping Over Clouds.

Lucy Burnett has two collections of poetry published by Carcanet Press (Tripping over Clouds and Leaf Graffiti) and a hybrid novel, Through the Weather Glass, with Knives Forks and Spoons Press. She currently lives in Cockermouth, where she gets out fell-running as often as possible, while working as programme leader in Creative Writing at the University of Cumbria.
