Matt Coyne

Dummy: the comedy and chaos of real-life parenting

Matt Coyne is a hero for thousands of parents everywhere through his popular Facebook blog, Man vs Baby, which currently has over 200,000 followers.

Blogging success led to the publication of his first book, Dummy - not your average parenting tome. Packed with completely impractical advice for the bewildered new mum or dad, it contains stuff you won't find anywhere else, and it is a very funny and extremely honest look at the mystery and madness of parenting.

Matt will share his hilarious tales of becoming a first time Dad with BBC Radio Cumbria’s afternoon show presenter, Caroline Robertson.

Matt Coyne lives in Sheffield with his son Charlie, his partner Lyndsay and a Jack Russell terrier with "issues" called Eddie. He was, variously, a toilet roll packer, turnstile-operator, cardboard box folder and a sorter of coat-hangers for Burton Menswear, before gaining an English degree from Manchester University and ultimately setting up his own print and design company.  As well as blogging and writing, Matt is a singer/songwriter with the band Terry and Dead and has appeared on compilation albums with Paul Heaton, Billy Bragg and Sleaford Mods.
