Three Things About Elsie
Joanna Cannon, the bestselling author of The Trouble with Goats and Sheep, returns to Borderlines to talk about her wonderful second novel, Three Things About Elsie, a warm, wise, thoughtful and uplifting novel exploring the themes of aging and long buried secrets. The book was longlisted for the Women’s Prize for Fiction in 2018. Joanna will be in conversation with teacher, writer and therapist, Helen Weston.
Joanna Cannon left school at fifteen with one O-level and worked her way through many different jobs – barmaid, kennel maid, pizza delivery expert – before returning to school in her thirties and qualifying as a doctor in her forties. Her work as a psychiatrist and her interest in people on the fringes of society, continue to inspire her writing. Joanna currently volunteers for Arts for Health, an organisation bringing creative arts to NHS staff and patients. She lives in the Peak District.
