Deeds not Words
On the 100th anniversary of women getting the vote, Helen Pankhurst, a leading women’s rights campaigner, the great-granddaughter of suffragette leader, Emmeline Pankhurst and grand-daughter of Sylvia Pankhurst, charts how women’s lives have changed over the past century. Combining historical insight with inspiring argument, Deeds not Words reveals how far women have come since the suffragettes, how far we still have to go, and how we might get there.
Dr Helen Pankhurst is a senior adviser to CARE International, based in the UK and Ethiopia where her work is focused on programme and policy in urban and rural development, water hygiene and women’s rights. Helen was an advisor and had a cameo role on the recent film, Suffragette.
