Poetry as Autobiography

During this workshop you will look at using autobiography as the starting point for your own poetry.  You will look at examples of how the story of the self can be transformed through poetry and how our own lived experiences can be used to create a poem with a wider universal appeal.  Come prepared to think about memory, risk, truth, lies, reality and perspective.  This workshop is suitable for beginners and more experienced writers.

Kim Moore’s first full-length collection The Art of Falling was published in 2015 by Seren and was shortlisted for the Lakeland Book of the Year Award.  She won a Northern Writers Award in 2014, an Eric Gregory Award in 2011 and the Poetry Society’s Geoffrey Dearmer Prize in 2010.
